24-year-old Trinidad and Tobago Olympic athlete Dwight St. Hillaire made collegiate, national, and international history when he clocked 32.70 at the Cardinal Classic in Kentucky on Saturday. 

With this win, he has achieved several milestones; 

  • surpassed his own record to the fourth-fastest time in collegiate history
  • moves up to 5th Caribbean of all time in 300m (indoor)
  • becomes the 2021 World Leader in the indoor 300m

St Hillaire, representing the Kaizen Panthers, is an accomplished collegiate athlete at the University of Kentucky wherein he is an All-American merited by him helping his university win silver medals at the NCAA Championships and at the SEC Championships in 2020.

At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, St. Hillaire competed in the 400m in which he progressed to the semi-finals, but picked up an injury during his leg for Team TTO in the 4x400m relay finals. He still completed his leg.
