T&T men’s senior team is off to a flying start in the Courts Caribbean Classic Tri-Series Tournament after registering a 9-0 thrashing against Barbados earlier this evening.

A hat trick from Greece-based Levi Garcia combined with a left footed rocket from Ryan Telfer set the tone going into the half time break.

Garcia opened the scoring, capitalizing on a dump from veteran keeper Marvin Phillip in the 27th minute.

It wasn’t too long before striker Ryan Telfer made his mark with a left footed strike in the 29th minute.

Garcia, who proved to be a handful for the Bajans, completed his hat trick with a strike in the 36th followed by a header just before the half time whistle in the 40th.

The Soca Warriors maintained their dominance in the second half with Ryan Telfer adding to the goal tally with a cannon in the 59th minute before debutant Nicholas Dillon netted a brace.

It got worse for the visitors, who conceded two more goals in the last ten minutes courtesy Reon Moore in the 80th and starlet John-Paul Rochford with a near post strike a few minutes after.

Angus Eve’s men will square off against Jamal Shabazz led Guyana on Tuesday.
